Man charged with murder after man, 46, dies following aggravated burglary in south London

A Wandsworth man has appeared in court charged with murder after a 46-year-old man was attacked during a burglary at his home.

Romar McDermott, 22, of Mitcham Lane, appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, March 24, charged with the murder of Myles Meyjes.

Mr Meyjes was admitted to hospital on February 12 after he reported being assaulted during an aggravated burglary at his home.

He died eight days later on February 20.

Mr McDermott was remanded in custody to appear at the same court on Thursday, April 9.

The Met launched a murder investigation in December after reviewing the findings of the post-mortem examination.

A second man, Jamal Morgan-Salih, 32, Gravesend appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, January 24 also charged with murder.

He was remanded in custody to also next appear at the Old Bailey on Thursday, April 9.
