Man charged with murder after 999 crew finds woman's body at Liverpool home

A man has been charged with murder following the death of a woman in Norris Green.

Lyndsey Alcock was found dead at a home in the area last year.

Carl William Alcock has since been charged with her murder, the ECHO can confirm today.

The allegation followed an investigation sparked by the discovery of the 45-year-old while the country was in the first national Coronavirus lockdown on May 29, 2020.

The North West Ambulance Service found her body after attending a property in Swallowhurst Crescent at 7.45pm.

Crews then alerted Merseyside Police.

A post mortem examination revealed the cause of death was "mixed depressant drug toxicity with pneumonia".

Carl Alcock, also 45 and of no fixed abode, was charged with her murder in December.

He was remanded in custody following an appearance in Liverpool Crown Court, where his case is next due to be heard in March.
