Man charged with attempted murder after discovery of 'severely injured man' in field outside Broughshane

A man in his 40s has been charged with attempted murder following the discovery of a "severely injured man" in a field.

The 43-year-old man was charged with attempted murder, kidnap, and arson after an injured man was found on the Lisnamurrikin Road outside Broughshane, Co Antrim, on October 11.

He is due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court via videolink tomorrow, Thursday, December 16.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: "Detectives have charged a 43-year-old male with attempted murder, kidnap, and arson following the discovery of a severely injured man in a field on the Lisnamurrikin Road outside Broughshane on 11th October.

"He is due to appear before Ballymena Magistrates' Court via videolink tomorrow, Thursday, December 16.

"As is usual procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service (PPS)."
