Man booked for uploading objectionable video of minor daughter on social media

NAGPUR: The Mankapur police have registered an offence of outraging modesty of a woman against a 35-year-old man who allegedly uploaded an objectionable video of his eight-year-old daughter on social media this week.

Police said the girl stays with the man’s estranged wife who had registered an offence against him for cruelty in 2019. It is learnt, the husband and wife are at loggerheads due to marital discord.

Police said the man is an engineer. He made a video of his wife when they were fighting at home a couple of years ago. In the video, the couple was blaming each other for trying to set their daughter on fire by pouring kerosene.

The man allegedly uploaded the video on social media recently, following which his wife lodged a fresh complaint against him.

Senior inspector Vaijayanti Mandodhawde of Mankapur police station said assistance of the cyber cell is being sought to recover the video from social media. “We are investigating the case,” she said.
