A man has been banned from flying abroad after causing mayhem on a British Airways flight from Los Angeles to London Heathrow Airport.
Simon Jones, 51, was handcuffed by cabin crew after screaming and swearing during the flight on Saturday, May 23.
His defence counsel told Uxbridge Magistrates' Court that his behaviour was "completely out of character".
The court heard that Mr Jones suffered from bipolar disorder and had not been taking his medication at the time.
Jones, of Willington in Bedfordshire, admitted offences at a previous hearing including using threatening, abusive or insulting words towards a member of staff.
Ashleigh Ettienne, prosecuting, said a passenger next to Jones claimed he became “agitated” by “clapping” and “talking very loudly”.

She said Jones started to shout saying “can I have a f****** glass” and “give me a glass for my f****** drink”.
After Jones repeatedly left his seat to go to the toilet, the passenger next to him asked an attendant to move seats.
"The captain ordered that Mr Jones (was) not to be given any more alcohol," Ms Ettienne added, revealing that he became "irate, gritting his teeth... pacing up and down the cabin.
Jones then proceeded to sit on the part of the door that was connected to the emergency slide, before arguing with staff and passengers.
The court heard that Jones was restrained to his seat using handcuffs and checked on every 15 minutes until the 10-hour journey ended.
Jones is then said to have shouted: "Oi blonde boy, loosen them cuffs or I'll wrap them around your neck.”

Gurbinder Tamana, defending, said Jones had one alcoholic drink and has not committed any further offences.
"During that time in his life he was having a difficult time... he states he wasn't taking his medication as he should have," she said.
"He has new medication that has been prescribed now. He's working now as well and that's in a bar."
Jones was sentenced to a 12-month community order, ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation activity requirement days.
He was also banned from international travel for six months and ordered to pay £400 in costs, as well as well as a surcharge of £114 and £150, respectively, to the other passenger.
Judge Kathryn Verghis said: "The incident in itself was sustained from the very start of the flight... your behaviour towards a fellow passenger was completely unacceptable."
