Man assaulted by two men in east end flat as police appeal for information

A man has been rushed to hospital after being attacked by two men at an east end flat.

Police and paramedics raced to Edinburgh Road after receiving the report at around 3:40am and the man was taken to the Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The street remains cordoned off this afternoon.

Police Scotland is urging anyone with information to come forward.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "Officers are following a positive line of enquiry in relation to this but it is still ongoing.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident 0919 of August 9."
