Man arrested then released following hunt for couple involved in campsite disturbance

A MAN has been arrested and then released without charge following a search for a German or Austrian couple over a disturbance near a campsite in the Highlands.

Police have been searching for a man and a woman involved in an incident near the entrance of Sunnyside Croft Camping Site, in the Bunacaimb area of Arisaig, at around 3pm on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, officers arrested a man in connection with the disturbance, but he was later released without charge.

It is believed the search for the couple is still ongoing.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “A 54-year-old man was arrested and later released without charge following a disturbance in the Bunacaimb area of Arisaig, Lochaber, which occurred around 3pm on Tuesday, September 3.

“Enquiries were carried out and there will be no further police action.”
