Man arrested on suspicion of 'intimidating' Criminal Assets Bureau officer

A man has been arrested on suspicion of intimidating an officer working for the Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB).

The 58-year-old man was taken into custody this morning after a search in Co Wexford.

He has been arrested under Section 13 of the CAB Act 1996.

A garda spokesman said: "A 58-year-old man has been arrested as part of a search operation taking part this morning, 27/06/19, carried out by the Criminal Assets Bureau.

"The man has been arrested under Section 13 of the CAB Act 1996 on suspicion of intimidating a Revenue Bureau Officer of the Criminal Assets Bureau and is currently detained at a Wexford Garda Station."

CAB is a law enforcement agency which focuses on assets that were bought with the proceeds of crime.
