Man arrested in Bengaluru for filming women walkers in park

BENGALURU: A 59-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly photographing and filming women walkers at Akkamahadevi Park in Jayanagar.

The accused, Prasanna, is a resident of Jayanagar 7th Block and allegedly made the recordings on March 31. Police said two women were on their evening walk at the park in Jayanagar 4th Block when they noticed the man capturing their pictures and videos.

The women had warned him a few weeks ago, but he was at it again on March 31. They questioned the man, who denied taking any photo or video. “The women asked to check his mobile phone and the suspect heeded as a huge crowd had gathered at the spot. The women found their videos along with those of several other women in the park,” a police source said.

The women complained to Jayanagar police, who rushed to the spot and arrested Prasanna. He has been booked for voyeurism and stalking under IPC sections 354c and 354d.
