A man has been charged in connection with a serious assault and abduction in Paisley.
Police launched a probe after three men were said to have been assaulted by a gang of men on Broomlands Street at Maxwellton Street in the town's west end around 9.25pm on Thursday (December 2).
One of the alleged victims is said to have been forced into the back of a car and driven to Langfaulds Cemetery on Baljaffray Road in Glasgow.
It was reported that he was alleged to have then been further assaulted and threatened, with six males said to have stolen cash and a mobile phone.
The Express told yesterday how police had launched an appeal for information following the alleged incident.

A 25-year-old has since been arrested and charged in connection with an abduction and assault.
He is due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court today.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A 25-year-old has been arrested and charged in connection with an abduction and assault in Paisley.
"Around 9.25pm on Thursday, 2 December, 2021, police received a report three men were assaulted by a group of men in Broomlands Street at Maxwellton Street in Paisley, and Baljaffray Road in Glasgow.
"The 25-year-old man was due to appear at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 8 December, 2021."
