A woman was hospitalised after a multi car crash in Ayr sparking a police probe.
Cops raced to the scene after three cars crashed on the A77 near the Whitletts Roundabout on Tuesday.
The alarm was raised around 6.50pm before the 43-year-old woman was taken to hospital.
A 34-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with drug offences following the crash.
The road was shut for hours while mercy crews investigated the scene.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of a crash involving three vehicles on the A77 near the Whitletts Roundabout around 6.50pm on Tuesday, 15 June.
"A 43-year-old woman was taken to hospital as a precaution following the crash.
"No other injuries were reported.
"A 34-year-old man has been arrested in connection with drug offences following the crash and further enquiries are ongoing.
"The road fully reopened around 9.20pm."
