A man has been arrested after a woman’s body was found in Paisley.
The 27 year old was detained after the woman, also 27, was found unconscious in a flat in the town’s Abbot Street on yesterday evening.
Paramedics attended but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of her death is not yet known, but a police spokeswoman confirmed a man has been arrested.
The spokeswoman said: “Around 6.20pm on Saturday, February 1, 2020, police received a report a 27-year-old woman was found unconscious at a flat in Abbot Street, Paisley.
“Emergency services attended and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death.
“A 27-year-old man has been arrested.”
