A source said the train they were on near Connolly Station was stopped for '15-20 minutes' during peak rush hour commuting times while the situation was dealt with by authorities.

Irish Rail took to Twitter to confirm the incident had been dealt with, Dublin Live reports.

They said: "Delays to DART and Commuter through city centre following trespass between Tara Street and Connolly. Line clear, services have resumed."
