A 51-year-old man from North Wales has been released under investigation after being arrested over an incident which saw a van used to ram a police vehicle in Liverpool.
Other offices were then led on a chase that ended in Runcorn.
Merseyside Police said the pursuit began shortly after 10pm last Wednesday, May 13, when roads officers began to follow a Ford Transit that failed to stop on Edge Lane.
It rammed a police vehicle and the pursuit continued into Cheshire where it is alleged to have damaged more police vehicles.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said the pursuit ended when the van collided with parked cars on Picow Farm Road in Runcorn and came to a stop.
Nobody was injured.
A 51-year-old man from Gwynedd, North Wales, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving and resisting arrest.
He was taken to a police station for questioning and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

A member of the public told the ECHO they saw a large police presence descended on the area around Lowlands Road, Runcorn, close to the station end of Picow Farm Road.
