A man has been arrested after a police officer was injured in a crash with a quad bike.
The arrest follows the incident which happened on May 17 on Borron Road in Newton-le-Willows when the police officer was in a crash with a quad bike, suffering an injury to his hand. The 29-year-old, from St Helens was arrested on suspicion of attempted s18 wounding with intent on an emergency worker.
He is in custody and will be questioned by officers. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We have arrested a St Helens man on suspicion of attempted s18 wounding with intent on an emergency worker.

"The arrest follows an incident on Borron Road in Newton-le-Willows on the evening of May 17 this year when a police officer suffered an injury to his hand after being in a collision with a quad bike. The 29 year-old man is currently in custody where he will be questioned by officers."
