Man arrested after 'making unacceptable sexualised comments' to young girls at Scots park

A man has been arrested after allegedly making 'unacceptable sexualised comments' to young girls in a Scots park.

The 26-year-old was picked up by cops after a number of complaints had been made about behaviour in Lewisvale Park, Musselburgh, East Lothian last Thursday.

He is alleged to have made the comments to young girls and 'acted aggressively' towards others.

Cops carried out a probe and found other unreported incidents as well.

The man has been held in custody and is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

He has been charged with offences under the Sexual Offences Scotland Act (SOSA) and for threatening and abusive behaviour.

A statement from Police Scotland today read: "This type of behaviour will never be tolerated.

"Females should always feel safe when they are out and not subject to such unacceptable comments or behaviour.

"If you are concerned or witness unacceptable conduct please report this immediately to us on 101 or 999 in an emergency.:
