Man arrested after allegedly driving stolen car on wrong side of the road

A man has been arrested after he was allegedly seen swerving onto the wrong side of the road while behind the wheel of a stolen car in Canberra's north.

Police said the man was seen driving a stolen grey Honda HR-V SUV along Barry Drive and Belconnen Way about 9.30am on Wednesday.

The man was arrested and charged with theft and driving offences.

Police have appealed for anyone with dashcam footage or those who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to contact CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
