Man arrested after alleged 'armed robbery' of Greenock post office

A man has been arrested following an alleged 'armed robbery' at a post office in Greenock.

The incident happened at about 9.45am this morning at the premises that is also a newsagent.

A Police Scotland spokesman gave little information on what happened but confirmed a 25-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident.

They said: “We were called around 9.45am on Monday, 23 November, 2020, to a report of a robbery at a premises on Brisbane Street, Greenock. A  25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

“Officers are currently at the location and carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of what happened.”
