Man and woman charged over fatal shooting of ‘innocent bystander’ in Sheffield

  • Two people have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of Shanice Brookes, a mother-of-one, outside a Sheffield city centre bar on bank holiday Monday.
  • Jemele Rhone, 30, has been charged with murder, while Deiryen Dyce, 32, faces charges including assisting an offender, possession of ammunition, and drug-related offences.
  • Both defendants are scheduled to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
  • Police described Ms Brookes, 30, as an “entirely innocent bystander” and said her death had a profound impact on her family, including her young son.
  • South Yorkshire Police continue to appeal for witnesses and anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
