Man admits threatening Netherton shop assistant

A Cambuslang man has admitted threatening a Netherton shop assistant with a knife during an attempted robbery.

Euan Holding, 21, of Howieshill Road, went into Baz’s Store in Kirkhill Place on May 18 last year.

He brandished a knife towards a female employee and demanded money, but none was handed over.

Holding did not appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Friday, but lawyer Stephen McQuillan lodged a guilty plea on his behalf.

Sheriff Linda Nicolson called for a criminal justice social work report and an electronic tagging assessment.

Holding must attend court for sentence in April.
