A man who was injured in a crash in south suburban Lynwood last week has died.

Lathie Peoples was pronounced dead Wednesday at the University of Chicago Medical Center, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. He lived in Lynwood.

The 85-year-old man was involved in a crash about 6:16 a.m. Dec. 7 in the 19600 block of Burnham Avenue, the medical examiner’s office said.

An autopsy Thursday found he died of complications of closed head injuries from a motor vehicle collision, with cardiovascular disease as a contributing factor, the medical examiner’s office said. His death was ruled an accident.

Lynwood police did not immediately provide additional information on the crash.
