Man, 63, air-lifted to hospital after cycling crash

A man in his 60s has been taken to hospital after a cycling crash in the Upper Hunter on Monday morning.

Emergency crews - the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and NSW Ambulance paramedics - were called to the scene of the accident on the outskirts of Scone about 10.15am.

The cyclist, a 63-year-old man, was treated at the scene by a critical care team for suspected spinal injuries and abrasions.

He was then air-lifted to John Hunter Hospital in a stable condition, according to a statement from the Westpac chopper team.
