Man, 50, found seriously injured in house as woman 'helping police with enquiries'

A man in his 50s was found seriously injured and taken to hospital.

Merseyside Police said they attended an address in O'Sullivan Crescent, St Helens yesterday around 4.40pm after being alerted by paramedics.

A man in his 50s was found seriously injured inside the property.

He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Detectives said their investigations are ongoing, and a 55-year-old woman is helping them with their enquiries.

Neighbours reported seeing an air ambulance, paramedics and four police cars attend the emergency.

A man was reportedly seen "coming out on a stretcher" and police forensics teams were spotted.

This morning, people reported still seeing a police presence at the address.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We can confirm that emergency services attended at a property in St Helens yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 29 September.

"At around 4.40pm, the ambulance service informed officers they were in attendance at a house on O'Sullivan Crescent after a man in his 50s was found seriously injured.

"He was taken to hospital to be checked over. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish what has taken place and a 55 year-old woman is currently assisting detectives with their enquiries."
