A man who was stabbed in South Shore over Labor Day weekend died Monday.

Adrian Herman, 44, was stabbed in the chest and eye about 11 a.m. Aug. 31 in the 7500 block of South Colfax Avenue, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said.

While police said the incident was domestic in nature, no one was in custody by Tuesday evening.

He was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center where he died Sept. 2, authorities said. Herman lived in the same block he was stabbed.

An autopsy released Tuesday found he died from his stab wounds and ruled his death a homicide, the medical examiner’s office said.
