A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the assault of an 85-year-old woman in her own home.
The pensioner’s house on Hawthornhill Road, Dumbarton, was broken into on Sunday, April 14.
The victim, who suffers from dementia, was rushed to the Royal Alexandra Hospital after for treatment to head and facial injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said today: “A 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with this incident and is due before Dumbarton Sheriff Court today (Thursday, April 25.
“A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
