Man, 24, arrested after fatal shooting of Graham Williamson in Blantyre

A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Blantyre last month.

Graham Williamson, 26, was gunned down from behind on Caithness Street on Monday, August 17.

Officers investigating the murder carried out a stop and speak operation a week on.

Around 50 members of the public were spoken to in an effort to glean more information on the shooting.

As previously reported by Glasgow Live , dad-of-one Graham had been waiting for his car to be uplifted when he was shot.

He was rushed University Hospital Wishaw but died a short time later.

A police statement reads: "Police Scotland can confirm that a 24-year-old man has today, Wednesday 2 September, 2020 been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of 26-year-old Graham Williamson in Caithness Street, Blantyre which happened on Monday, 17 August, 2020."
