Man, 21, stabbed in shoulder during car park gang attack

A man was savagely attacked by four men outside a block of flats leaving him with severe injuries.

Merseyside Police were called to Fox Street Studios near Great Homer Street at around 8pm on Tuesday, May 24 following reports a man had been stabbed. Officers attending found a 21-year-old man with severe injuries including head injuries and a single puncture wound to his left shoulder after the four men attacked him with a crowbar and a knife.

The man was rushed to hospital by North West Ambulance Service where his condition is currently described as stable. The incident happened in the car park at the entrance of the flats.

Several police officers and forensic officers were at the scene on Tuesday night. Forensic examinations are currently being carried out and house-to-house enquiries are taking place.

Detective Inspector Katie Coote said: “The investigation is in its early stages and we are currently trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the assault who may have seen anything, or who has information which could help us with our inquiries, to contact us."
