A man is undergoing surgery in hospital after being shot in Moss Side.
Police were called to a shooting in Rosebery Street at around 8.20pm this evening (July 5).
GMP say a 20-year-old man is having surgery after turning up at hospital with gunshot wounds.
A large police cordon is in place on Rosebury Street at the junctions with Greame Street and Alison Street.
Armed police and a crime scene investigation unit have also been at the scene.
An eyewitness has told the Manchester Evening News he heard three shots on Monday evening.
A GMP spokesperson said: "At about 8.20pm today (5 July), officers were called to Rosebery Street, Moss Side, to reports of a shooting.
"A 20-year-old man self-presented at hospital with gunshot wounds and is undergoing surgery.
"There is a scene in place in and around Rosebery Street and there are road closures in place.
"Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made."
