A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death in Southall.
Officers were called just before 1am last Wednesday following reports of a stabbing on North Road.
Upon arrival, emergency services found two men with injuries.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, 26-year-old Gurbhej Singh was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
The second victim, a man in his 30s, was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
Police have now arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of murdering Mr Singh. He remains in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Alison Foxwell, who is leading the investigation, said: “Officers have carried out extensive enquiries since Gurbhej’s death last week, which have led us to arrest a suspect on suspicion of his murder.
“I am aware of the concern that this tragic incident will have caused locally and I would like to thank the community for their patience while we have carried out our enquiries at the scene.
“I also want to thank those who have provided CCTV and other information that has helped us piece together what happened on the night of Gurbhej’s death.
“My thoughts remain with Gurbhej’s family and loved ones.”
A total of seven men, aged from their early 20s to late 30s, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
Six have since been released with no further action, while a seventh remains on police bail while enquiries continue.
