As Gordon Ewers celebrates his 106th year on earth, he has reflected on a remarkable 10 decades of life.
Gordon, who is from Perth in Australia, was born in 1916 and has lived through two world wars, the Great Depression, and now the Covid-19 pandemic.
The centenarian, who is described as "sharp as a tack," shared his secret to a long life with 9 News.
He said that, while most people his age have a list of things they do to which they credit their health, he reckons the reason for his longevity is "not so much what I’ve done, but what I haven’t done."
He joked: "I'm well. The bloke inside the failing body is alright."

Fiercely independent Gordon, who has two daughters, is still healthy enough to live on his own and is able to look after himself perfectly well.
He said it's important to "live sensibly, breathe regularly, think positively, and live hopefully" in life.
But he thinks two things in particular he's always steered clear of are the secret to his long life - smoking and drinking.
Gordon admitted he's never smoked a cigarette or had an alcoholic drink in his 106 years on earth.
While others around him are in awe of his longevity, humble Gordon doesn't see what all the fuss is about.
“I can’t say it’s much of an achievement, it just happened to me, which I’m very happy for it to have done,” he said.
Gordon's daughter Shirley Burton isn't surprised her dad has reached such a grand age - saying he "takes life as it comes."
Another daughter, Marian Hall, recalled her dad being very involved with the kids when she was young.
She said her good-humoured father was "loving and always there" and the family always did lots of things together.
Gordon's incredible life experiences have influenced how he lives - and he admits he's always been frugal since living through the Great Depression.
