Malik Tillman set for PSV debut against Rangers as injury comeback timeline revealed

Malik Tillman could make his PSV Eindhoven debut against his former club Rangers at Ibrox next week in a potential Champions League showdown after his injury comeback timeline was revealed by his manager.

The USA International was a huge hit at Rangers last season until a hamstring injury picked up in the Scottish Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic ended his season and his loan spell.

His club Bayern Munich cancelled Rangers' £5 million buy option and instead sent him on loan instead to the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven.

However, Tillman is not yet fit enough to play against Utrecht this weekend and won't be risked in midweek for the return leg of the third qualifying round tie in Austria with the Dutch side having a comfortable 4-1 lead against Sturm Graz.

And PSV boss Peter Bosz has revealed that Tillman, 21, may be ready to make his bow in just over a week's time, which would mean he will make his bow at Ibrox against Rangers...if Michael Beale's side completes the job against Servette this week and qualify for the play-off round.

He said: "Malik is not yet fit enough to play this weekend or in midweek. He should be ok in about a week.

"I will leave the decision about whether he is ready to play then to the medical staff.

"He is actually an extremely shy boy, but as soon as he is on the football pitch he shakes it all off.

"Malik has already proven his talent at Bayern and Rangers and he will be a great addition to the squad."

Tillman netted ten league goals in 22 starts for Rangers last season.
