Making up fake stories about Kawhi Leonard is NBA Twitter’s favorite new exercise

Kawhi Leonard has long been one of the more unique personalities in the NBA.

Just the sound of him laughing before the season became instant meme material amongst NBA fans. Basically, everything Kawhi does is different — at least in the eyes of NBA fans.

Just stories of Leonard’s “Board man gets paid” trash talk was enough to add to the legend of Kawhi. So, with the Raptors one win away from the first NBA title in the franchise’s history, some NBA fans have felt compelled to share their own stories about the mysterious Raptors star.

There’s just one important detail to remember — all the stories are fake.

This was what NBA fans had come up with the past few days. The trend started with a totally fake (and hilariously believable) “Apple time, apple time” screenshot.

That story, in particular, went so viral that reporters had to make note that it was fake. People thought it was real.

But that wasn’t the only tale to hit Twitter.

And another one.

If the Raptors end up winning the NBA Finals, we can count on seeing more of these.
