Making the most of available space - but some plane passengers horrified by this sleeping solution

Nodding off for a decent sleep during a flight is notoriously difficult - unless you're enjoying the luxury of business class.

Economy seats mean it's usually difficult to stretch out properly and there's the added distraction of other passengers, and the general noise and light.

So can you really blame one traveller for seeking a bed on the floor during a flight?

Actually, apparently you can - at least, according to comments on a photo shared to the passengershaming Instagram account.

In the image, we see one of the fliers lying across a row of three seats.

As for his travelling companion, they're seen lying on the floor below him, trying to catch some 'zzzs'.

Followers of the account were horrified, especially as some believed it was a woman lying in the footwell.

"What's more obvious for me here is the fact the guy is on the comfier seats and the girl is on the floor!"

But mostly it was the cleanliness aspect which horrified people the most.

"That's gross...no way!" one person wrote.

Another added: "Absolutely no. The floor is one of the dirtiest parts."

That said, some could see why the pair did what they did.

One understanding soul said: "When you are 20 hours into the 25-hour flight from Australia to the UK, the floor looks very comfortable!!!"

Another added: "What's the problem?"
