Major search for missing man as locals urged to check sheds and outbuildings

Caithness residents have been urged to check sheds and outbuildings in the hunt for a missing man.

Robert Gunn vanished on Saturday evening at around 6pm in Halkirk.

He is described as being bald, approximately 5'4" with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a blue fleece hoodie, a blue body warmer, tracksuit bottoms and possibly dark coloured (blue/grey) trainers.

A major search operation is underway, with police helicopters out in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A Police Scotland statement reads: "Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101- Ref: PS-20201107-4203."
