A MAJOR music festival has announced it will come to Glasgow next year.

Terminal V, Scotland’s largest electronic music event, will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a fully outdoor edition in Glasgow on June 5 and 6 in 2027.

This marks the festival’s first ever fully outdoor event after its final event at Edinburgh’s Royal Highland Centre in April 2026.

The exact location of the festival's new home is unknown but organisers have promised further details in the coming weeks.

Terminal V co-founder Derek Martin said: "As we head into our 10th anniversary year, it felt like the right moment to evolve Terminal V once again.

"Creating our first ever fully outdoor festival in a new setting in Glasgow gives us the opportunity to take Terminal V to the next level, while staying true to the industrial identity that has always been part of the brand."

The new location, described as being in the heart of Glasgow, has never previously hosted a music event.

Organisers believe this move will not only redefine the festival’s experience but could also have a significant impact on the city’s live events scene.

Co-founder Simon McGrath said: "Terminal V has grown hugely over the past decade, with audiences now travelling from across the UK and internationally to be part of it.

"This new setting feels like a natural fit for the next chapter of the festival, combining the industrial backdrop that has always been part of Terminal V with the opportunity to create something really special outdoors."

The festival has become a major player in Scotland’s music tourism economy, with more than 30 per cent of ticket sales now coming from outside Scotland.

Previous editions of the festival have contributed more than £5 million to the local economy, supported thousands of hotel stays, delivered a significant boost to hospitality businesses and supported more than 1500 event staff and freelancers, alongside extensive investment into Scotland’s event supply chain.

Tickets go on sale Tuesday June 2 at 10am and you can find them here.
