A MAJOR road in the Highlands is closed following a three-vehicle crash.
The incident took place at the A836 outside Dounreay power station at around 7.40am on Tuesday.
Police confirmed emergency services are in attendance.
A diversion has been put in place around the old air field and road users have been urged to avoid the area.
The A836 is a major road primarily in Sutherland, running from Ross and Cromarty to Caithness.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "The A836 is closed outside Dounreay power station following a three-vehicle crash that happened around 7.40am on Tuesday, October 7.
"Emergency services are in attendance.
"A diversion is in place and road users are advised to avoid the area if possible."
