ONE of the world’s biggest yoga brands could be set to open its first store in Scotland.
Loved by celebrities and yoga enthusiasts alike, the Californian activewear brand Alo Yoga has already expanded its global footprint to the UK with its first stores in London.
Regularly sported by the likes of J-Lo, Hailey Bieber and the Kardashians, the brand revealed plans to open stores in Manchester and Leeds.
However, according to a job listing online, Alo Yoga could be opening its first Scottish store in Edinburgh.
The job listing states the brand is looking for a sales and service manager based in the Scottish capital who is “mindful” of the Alo Yoga “movement”.
The job listing states: “Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living.
“It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better.
“That's the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.”
The listing also outlines that the sales and service manager is a “critical member” of the store leadership team.
It adds that the position is accountable for bringing ALO's business and guest experience strategy “to life” in the store and that candidates for the role should be “passionate” about business targets, sales, guest experience, and “elevating talent” to meet ALO's guiding principles.
The listing adds: “This role's north star is pointed at ensuring that guest experience in the store is exceptional.”
Responsibilities for the role also outline overseeing a sales and service team while also building and maintaining client relationships.
Alo Yoga opened its first UK store at King’s Road in London in November 2023, with its 10,000 sq ft flagship store in Regent Street.
The new Manchester and Leeds stores have been marketed as wellness-led destinations rather than traditional retail spaces, which include light-filled studio-inspired interiors, with natural materials and sculptural installations “that immerse visitors in the brand’s studio-to-street lifestyle”.
Founded in 2007, Alo Yoga has grown into a popular global brand, expanding from just yoga to a full activewear range, and is loved by celebrities, influencers and fitness fans.
Summer Nacewicz, executive vice president of Marketing & Creative at Alo, said previously when the new Manchester and Leeds stores were announced: “We’re thrilled to expand Alo’s presence in the UK with four new sanctuaries that bring people together.
“Each space has been thoughtfully created to reflect the spirit of its city while offering our community a place to connect, recharge, and grow.
“At Alo, we believe wellness is best experienced collectively — these sanctuaries are envisioned as hubs for movement, mindfulness and community.
“From Manchester’s vibrant energy to the historic beauty of Battersea and Victoria Leeds, each destination is meant to bring people together to share in the Alo experience.”
