Maharashtra BJP sacks party functionary over video with woman

MUMBAI: The state BJP has removed its Solapur district (rural) president Shrikant Deshmukh after a video purportedly showing him with a woman went viral, a party leader said on Tuesday.

Mumbai Police has filed an FIR against the woman on Deshmukh's extortion com-plaint lodged two days ago, an official said. The woman alleged that Deshmukh had an affair with her and cheated on her. State BJP vice-president Chitra Wagh said the woman should lodge a police complaint.
