Scott Pendlebury has received the first suspension of his 427-game career, the decorated Collingwood veteran slapped with a one-game ban for a heavy bump on Adelaide's Josh Worrell.
Pendlebury was cited for rough conduct for his fourth-quarter bump in Collingwood's 14-point loss at the MCG on Saturday night.
The 38-year-old's bump on Worrell, where Pendlebury was rushing into a contest, then braced for contact but collected the Crow in the head, was graded as careless conduct, high contact and medium impact.
It draws a one-game ban that rules Pendlebury out of the Magpies' clash with GWS.
Collingwood will ponder whether to appeal the ban.
"I've never been in this situation in 427 games," Pendlebury told the Seven Network.
"So I'm not sure what happens or how it works, but we'll have a chat tomorrow and we'll see where it lands."
Pendlebury is on track to break North Melbourne great Brent Harvey's record of 432 VFL/AFL appearances.
The two-time premiership player was due to equal the record against Essendon on Anzac Day, then break it against Hawthorn in Collingwood's home game on April 30.
If Pendlebury's ban stands, he would instead break it against Geelong on May 9.
Fellow Magpies veteran Steele Sidebottom received a fine for striking Adelaide's Hugh Bond.
Sidebottom had a free kick reversed after he attempted to break away from Bond and elbowed him in the stomach in the third quarter.
Brisbane star Charlie Cameron escaped suspension for rough conduct on Sydney's Brodie Grundy and can accept a $2000 fine.
Sydney's Sam Wicks, GWS youngster Harvey Thomas (striking), Adelaide's James Peatling and Fremantle's Neil Erasmus (both careless contact with an umpire) also received fines.
