Magnet Releasing acquires

"What You Wish For" is a suspense-horror film acquired by Magnet Releasing.

Magnet Releasing, the genre arm of Magnolia Pictures, has recently acquired the North American rights to the suspense-horror film 'What You Wish For,' written and directed by Nicholas Tomnay. The film, starring Nick Stahl, had its world premiere at the Fantasia Festival and is set to be released by Magnet this summer.

In 'What You Wish For,' Stahl takes on the role of Ryan, a talented chef who is plagued by gambling addiction. To escape the consequences of his actions, Ryan flees to an undisclosed Latin American country, seeking refuge with his friend Jack, played by Brian Groh. However, as Ryan becomes envious of Jack's extravagant lifestyle, a dark twist of fate allows him to assume his friend's identity. Soon, Ryan discovers the disturbing lengths Jack has gone to maintain his desired way of life.

Director Nicholas Tomnay, known for his work on 'The Perfect Host' starring David Hyde Pierce, delivers a sleek and unsettling film with a standout performance by Nick Stahl. Eamonn Bowles, the co-CEO of Magnolia Pictures, expresses excitement about partnering with Magnet for the release of 'What You Wish For.' Tomnay echoes this sentiment, stating his eagerness to share this suspenseful and captivating tale with audiences.

Produced by Nicholas Tomnay, Francesca Silvestri, and Kevin Chinoy, 'What You Wish For' is a production of Evergreen Avenue in association with Freestyle Picture Company. The deal was negotiated by Magnolia co-CEO Dori Begley and SVP of Acquisitions John Von Thaden, along with The Film Collaborative on behalf of the filmmakers.

Magnet Releasing, specializing in horror, action, comedy, and Asian cinema, is a renowned name in the industry. Their past credits include critically acclaimed films such as 'Let the Right One In' by Tomas Alfredson, '13 Assassins' by Takeshi Miike, 'Monsters' by Gareth Edwards, and 'Centurion' by Neil Marshall, proving their prowess in catering to diverse genres.

Stay tuned for the release of 'What You Wish For' this summer, as Magnet and Magnolia Pictures bring another thrilling and chilling cinematic experience to audiences across North America.
