Magical memories Scousers will never forget from Liverpool's snow storm 10 years on

Hundreds have relived their magical memories from from Liverpool's biggest ever snow storm a decade on.

Ten years ago, the city experienced one of the worst winters in living memory as people struggled to get about.

Thick snow blanketed Merseyside on December 17, the night many workers were celebrating the festive season in the city centre, including the ECHO team.

The extreme snowfall bought buses to a standstill, roads were closed, taxi drivers thought better than braving the conditions, and trains were literally stopped in their tracks.

Countless people were unable to make it home and had to rush for the last available hotel rooms in town.

While many embraced the snow, others had to walk for hours in the cold, but one thing everyone has in common is that they all remember it.

We asked our readers to tell us their memories of the snow storm and received over 1000 replies.

Here are just some that capture the true drama of the snow in Liverpool.

"Whole street having a massive snowball fight at like 8pm, making snow men and just having a laugh.

"Couldn’t get to school so they shut for a few days. Was such a good few days."
