BOSTON _ The Boston Celtics opened Sunday leading the Eastern Conference standings and leading the entire NBA in defensive rating and field-goal percentage defense.
The Orlando Magic started the day in a three-way tie for the NBA's worst record.
And then the Magic flipped the script.
Moving well without the ball during the game's first three quarters, the Magic survived an awful fourth quarter and stunned the Celtics 103-95 at TD Garden to snap a 14-game regular-season losing streak in Boston.
Orlando trailed 59-58 at halftime but broke open the game by outscoring the Celtics 32-12 in the third quarter.
The Magic carried a 90-71 lead into the fourth quarter, then made only one of their first 16 shot attempts of the period. The Celtics eroded the Magic's lead to 94-86.
But Elfrid Payton made a 19-foot jumper to push the Magic's advantage to 96-86 with 3:54 to play.
After Kyrie Irving missed a 3-pointer, Orlando's Khem Birch tipped in a miss by Evan Fournier, extending the Magic's lead to 98-86.
A short while later, Birch collected an offensive rebound off a miss by Shelvin Mack and scored on a layup. That basket put Orlando ahead 100-91 with 1:21 to play.
Irving finished with a game-high 40 points for the Celtics (34-13).
Payton scored a team-high 22 points for the Magic (14-32).
The Magic hadn't won a regular-season game in Boston since Feb. 7, 2010.
