BHOPAL: Two dozen new cases of Covid-19 were diagnosed in the state capital and another 16 cases of infection were reported from Indore, according to the state health bulletin on Thursday. It was the biggest single-day spike in infection cases this month.
24 Covid-19 cases in Bhopal were reported on Thursday. According to sources, it is limited to a few families. People diagnosed with the infection are mostly double vaccinated. Details of the surge and travel history are being looked into by the health department. Gene sequencing of the samples has also been directed, sources said. Bhopal now has 56 active cases of the infection and 10 recovered from Covid-19 in the last 24-hours.
Madhya Pradesh now has 276 active cases. Last time more than 50 cases were reported in a single was on May 26. 10.31 lakh out of 10.42 lakh people have recovered from Covid-19 infection in MP. Since the pandemic began, 10737 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19 in MP. Based on 7052 tests of suspected, infection positivity rate in MP increased to 0.7% on Thursday.
According to ICMR reporting for week ending June 6, 34 districts of MP had a higher positivity rate than state average.
