INDORE: Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia released BJP's manifesto for Indore civic body polls but his photograph was missing from the document, raising many eyebrows.
While Congress has called it a medium of the 'original BJP' taking revenge with the 'outsiders' and 'parachute candidates', the party in power has however termed it a mere trifle.
Scindia, who batted for BJP mayoral candidate from Ujjain and Indore in the slog overs, held two public meetings for them on Friday. In Indore, the union aviation minister also released BJP's manifesto for Indore Municipal Corporation and claimed that the party's mayors in last four tenure including Kailash Vijayvargiya carried out many works of development while Pushyamitra Bhargava is committed to take this legacy further.
Apart from terming the promises mentioned in BJP's manifesto as 'hollow', Congress has taken a dig at the party in power giving an advertisement in newspapers welcoming Scindia but the same not having photograph of Bhargava as a revenge from the 'parachute candidate' along with terming the union minister's photograph missing from the manifesto as an attack on the 'outsiders'.
"There are many senior leaders and MLAs including Ramesh Mendola in BJP, who have been working to strengthen the party's base from last two-three decades but they have been kept away from making minister or assigning such major responsibilities as their share has been distributed among Scindia's supporters" MPCC state secretary Nilabh Shukla claimed, adding that not giving Scindia's photograph in manifesto is a medium of showing anger by 'original BJP' on 'outsiders'.
"Similarly, there were many frontrunners including Mendola in BJP for the mayoral candidate, but the party fielding Bhargava is another injustice with them" he claimed, adding that therefore, senior BJP leaders supporting Bhargava halfheartedly while not giving his photograph in the advertisement is just a revenge from the 'parachute candidate'.
MP cabinet minister and Scindia's loyalist Tulsiram Silawat however termed it a mere trifle. "In BJP, there is no importance of photographs. We all are party workers and work in harmony. In BJP, there is importance of serving, dedication and hard work" Silawat said while rubbishing Congress party's allegations.
