Jabalpur: After a dispute with his mother-in-law, a 28-year old man kidnapped his 8-year-old brother-in-law and in ransom demanded that his mother-in-law should implicate neighbours and make a complaint against them.
Police recovered the kid and arrested the accused after an 11-hour investigation. Hanumaan Taal police station incharge, Umesh Gohlani said, “Mother-in-law of accused Abhishek Soni, 28, lives in his neighbourhood near Fakirchand Akhada. His father-in-law had died. And his mother-in-lawused to live with her son. A few days ago there was a dispute between Abhishek and a neighbour of hismother-in-law. Abhishek said that the dispute was due to his own mother in law. On Saturday again, there was a dispute between Abhishek and his mother-in-law. Later he took out his brother-in-law and did not return. In the afternoon, he threatened his mother-in-lawover phone, that she should make a complaint against her neighbour or he will kill the 8 year old kid”.
“The woman complained at Mahila police station. Phone location of the accused was traced, however he kept changing location and also switching off his phone from time to time. In the night it was found that he is in Panagar area where his relatives live. Police teams rushed there and first rescued the kid and then arrested the accused,” he added.
“The accused was booked under relevant sections of IPC and was produced before court”, he said.
