Manchester has long punched above its weight in many fields.
And our renowned universities are at the forefront of the region's accomplishments.
It's now been revealed that Greater Manchester has unknown links to several world leaders thanks to its world class education system, the Mirror reports.
New figures, released by the Foreign Office, show 46 current world leaders were educated at British institutions - with five studying right here in Greater Manchester.
They include the president of Ireland Michael Higgins, who attended Manchester University.
