Hailing from the south coast, now residing in Manchester, young Chloe Glover is a songwriter that you underestimate at your peril.
She may be an acoustic-playing solo artist, but Glover's music clearly owes as much to the rowdy punk scene as it does to the gentle folk idiom. Much like Frank Turner, she seamlessly bridges both of those worlds, combining impassioned vocals, vibrant acoustic strumming and smart, relatable lyrics about romantic confusion and mental health struggles. Epic and life-affirming, her songs can make an intimate gig venue seem more like a massive arena experience.
A long time coming, Glover's debut EP, Dark Matter, finally arrives next week – and, good news, it's bursting with the passion, power and personality we've come to expect of this Manchester star-in-waiting.
