Have you ever secretly wanted to join the Made in Chelsea style set but not known where to start? Yes? Well get the champagne on ice and break out the foie gras, because Channel 4 is launching a product range based on the reality series that will “enable fans to live their very own Made in Chelsea lifestyle”.
Channel 4 and Universal/NBC (which makes the show) have hired entertainment marketing company ITB after spying a “unique opportunity” to “capitalise on the show’s ever-growing cult popularity”.
Apparently the first stage is to “capture the Made in Chelsea brand DNA” – which presumably means going to posh restaurants and bars to be immersed in inane arguments between spoilt but perfectly groomed posh people.
The next step is to develop an “appropriate” product range – the key product categories include homeware, toiletries, apparel and fragrance. Lets just hope it all goes a bit better than Brian Fantana’s favourite Sex Panther (“60% of the time it works every time”).
