Biggest Madden 26 Rating Surprises And Snubs
Now that we know who the top players are, let’s talk about the people’s opinions. The fans have been outraged by some of these ratings, calling out EA for snubbing their favorite players. While some of it is biased, a lot of what they’re saying does make sense.
First things first, no Patrick Mahomes in the 99 club!? This is arguably the biggest controversy in the community right now. Despite another elite season, Mahomes was left off the 99 list and slapped with a 95 OVR. This places him behind Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and even Joe Burrow in the QB roster.
Keep in mind that Mahomes led the Chiefs to their third straight Super Bowl appearance last season, throwing for 3,928 passing yards, 26 TDs, and 11 INTs. He was the main driving force behind another deep playoff run… but apparently, that wasn’t enough for EA.
Another surprise for fans was not seeing Cam Ward, the No.1 overall pick, anywhere at the top of the rookie rankings. Instead, if you want to find him, you’ll have to scroll all the way down to the bottom. The 23-year-old is the 62nd highest rookie on the board.
Finally, one of the most shocking rankings for me was seeing Joe Mixon so high on the running back list. If you’re not aware, he’s the 6th highest RB in Madden 26, with a 91 OVR. However, his last season was not worthy, AT ALL, of a 91. While he did make the Pro Bowl last year, Mixon averaged, wait for it, 4.1 yards per carry. He also missed 3 games due to an ankle injury.
Compare that to James Cook, who is rated less than Mixon at 89, and you’ll understand what I’m talking about. Cook averaged 4.9 yards per carry, scored 16 touchdowns, and also hit the 1,000-yard mark — just like Mixon. So how is he rated lower?
Nice going, EA!
