'Mad ting!' - Tottenham fans love what Antonio Conte has done on Instagram after appointment

Some Tottenham supporters have made the joke that Antonio Conte is trying to upstage Jose Mourinho on social media following his appointment on Tuesday afternoon.

Conte was confirmed as Spurs' new manager at around midday on Tuesday, with the Italian coach signing an 18-month contract at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The 52-year-old comes to Tottenham with a massive reputation and sky-high expectations from the club's supporters, who are desperate for their 13-and-a-half-year wait for a major honour to be ended by the Italian.

Since being appointed, Conte has been very active on his official Instagram page, which has excited some Spurs fans on Reddit.

It's quite rare for a manager to be so active on social media, but Conte is clearly someone who is a fan of using platforms such as Instagram to share his feelings with his fans.

What also made some Spurs supporters laugh was that Conte shared a story which had the song 'Body' by Russ Millions and Tion Wayne playing in the background, an anthem that was largely made famous by social media platform TikTok.

Tottenham fans will be hoping for more regular updates from Conte on his social media channels as he embarks on a new chapter in his successful career.

After his appointment, Conte expressed his excitement to be working in football yet again after leaving Inter Milan at the end of last season.

He told Tottenham's official website : "I am extremely happy to return to coaching, and to do so at a Premier League club that has the ambition to be a protagonist again.

"Tottenham Hotspur has state-of-the-art facilities and one of the best stadiums in the world.

"I can't wait to start working to convey to the team and the fans the passion, mentality and determination that have always distinguished me, as a player and as a coach.

"Last summer our union did not happen because the end of my relationship with Inter was still too recent and emotionally too involved with the end of the season, so I felt that it wasn’t yet the right time to return to coaching.

"But the contagious enthusiasm and determination of Daniel Levy in wanting to entrust me with this task had already hit the mark. Now that the opportunity has returned, I have chosen to take it with great conviction."
